Great concept, definitely something that is needed, but didn't seem to work out of the box for me. I also couldn't tell if Roger's code above was for the WLW plugin in WLW or for the plugin in wordpress.

I could activate the plugin, but could not see anywhere that I could actually identify which image if any should be set as the featured image. Nothing just auto saved some random image in a post as featured image either (not that I really expected it to do that).

Maybe I'm missing something from a user perspective (couldn't find any actual user instructions in the blog article above nor anywhere else).

Not trying to complain, as some effort definitely went into this, just curious where it stands so that energy didn't go for nothing. :)

Hello,
I am working with windows live writer 2011 and wordpress 3.1. The plugin is installed but can't seem to work. After publishing my blog entry, I got to choose my featured image, it is trying to upload and then says : "Response from server does not contain valid XML.

Do you have any idea on how to resolve this problem ? (PS : I am not a programmer...)

Thanks for your help and this plugin.

How do I skip the insert Featured Image step ?
Now when I cancel at the point of image, the post does not publish.

Got this plug in to work with WP 3.2.2
After this:
		// Save the data
		$id = wp_insert_attachment( $attachment, $upload[ 'file' ], $post_id );
		wp_update_attachment_metadata( $id, wp_generate_attachment_metadata( $id, $upload['file'] ) );

Inserted this:
                update_post_meta( $post_id, '_thumbnail_id', $id );

Thanks for the plugin! It's very good.

Is there a way to set a per-post prefix?

Also, is there any way to intercept the Ctrl+V hotkey, or set a hotkey for the plugin itself?

Its such as you read my thoughts! You seem to grasp so much about this, like you wrote the guide in it or something. I think that you can do with a few percent to pressure the message home a bit, however other than that, that is great blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.

I was very exited when I saw this plugin... unfortunally. I installed it, but dont seems to work (Wordpress 3.2.1).

Will you continue mantaining this?
I think is one the MOST MISSED featured on windows writer, as most wordpress themes uses the featured image by now.
So far Microsoft itself should implement this on the software.
